My Favourite Music For Work in 2022 comes from Genshin Impact, a Video Game from China

I have compiled this page for future reference and to share these phenomenal soundtracks with you. I am not a musician, I am just blown away by "impactful" music.

MY THOUGHTS The game's soundtracks form one of the most distinctive collections that I have ever listened to. It has been created specifically for the video game, Genshin Impact (原神), mainly as thematic background music for in-game locations and cinematic cutscenes. That's how I came across it, having played the game since the end of 2020.

The music was performed using a whole host of instruments such as the flute, the erhu, the koto and the sitar. It was revealed that the musicians hail from: Shanghai Symphony Orchestra; Tokyo Philharmonic Orchestra; London Symphony Orchestra and London Philharmonic Orchestra.

Released soundtracks draw inspiration influences from China, Japan, Europe, Middle East and India. The game world contains 7 nations, which are inspired by real countries and each have their own soundtrack collection. Unsurprisingly, the music is relatable to millions of people around the world.

The quality is simply remarkable and stands shoulder to shoulder with its musical peers. There are hundreds of tracks and I believe there is something special for pretty much everyone. Tempo can range from calming/relaxing to upbeat/intense themes.

In terms of my work routine, I was pleasantly surprised that it worked extremely well. It helped me to focus, concentrate and even work faster. I found myself listening to the soundtrack again and again.

From what I can see, the music has a massive fanbase and is one of the primary reasons for the success of Genshin Impact. Also, there are plenty of new tracks to come with the continued game expansion in the next few years. I am sure that l will feel very nostalgic listening to these tracks then.
